twinkies, that beautiful cake + cream mixture is also a slur for asian people. that is, yellow on the outside, white on the side. you look asian, but you act white. i like to think that i am also a twinkie, but more in the deliciously goodness sense of the word, rather than the condescending version. i am literally half and half, so what kind of hostess cake does that make me?
i used to have a very methodical way of eating the twinkies. first, i would unwrap them, lick the wrapper (for that small morsel of left over cream + cake film stuck to the plastic) and then eat the twinkies -- holes first.

radio is a sound salvation
okay. i listen to a lot of radio now. particularly in the car. my favorite stations are:
NPR (93.9)
WFMU (91.1)
RXP (101.9) -- matt pinfield in the morning!
i guess if you know me the above is not really a shocker to anyone. BUT i do have a couple of secrets.
I LOVE KTU (103.5 -- "the beat of new york, ktu!") Especially Goumba Johnny and Hollywood. Yup. And at 5.40 p.m. they play the war of the roses. i don't know. it's about love, fidelity and lack there of. there is also a lot cursing. and bleeping.
additionally, ed lover (yo! mtv raps) has a show on in the morning on power 105 (105.1). my favorite day is "paternity test tuesday." there is also a lot of cursing on this program (bleeping, really), but there are babies involved.
isn't it funny that TWO ex-MTV VJ's are now on my favorite radio shows? I guess MTV is sort of like morrissey -- the more you ignore it, the closer it gets.
i heard the moby/gwen stefani duet of "southside" and it made me nostalgic for the year 2000. that cd was literally on every dotcommers desk.

weight watchers musing of the day
how is it possible to eat more than my daily points allowance in ONE dinner?
i guess that's what the extra reserve (35 points per week = about 12 beers) is for. but still! it doesn't make you feel good when you're tallying up the points.
we went to long island. people who drive the LIE do not know how to switch lanes properly. they also do not signal when switching lanes.

weight watchers
in a last attempt to lose my fat ass, i've joined weight watchers at work. WW @ W. yesterday was day 1. i completely now understnd why i have a fat ass! i eat too much! portion control, omg. and measuring the right amount of food to eat?
my point allowance (per day) is 21 points. it seriously is probably the least amount of food i've eaten since i was poor and in college. it was easy to lose weight then!

sick :(
i was so sick the past few days that i thought i was going to die. what's worse though is when you look up your symptoms on the internet and you find out that you are literally dying. i guess i am a bit of a hypochondriac (school nurses hated me), but too much information can be a bad thing.
